Campus as a Community

Isabel Raymundo says Illinois Tech's emphasis on projects, professional development, and research offers a variety of opportunities, which no doubt will help advance her career. And it also builds a sense of community.

"Since Illinois Tech is a smaller campus, it’s hard not to bump into the same person repeatedly, and sometimes it can blossom into a true friendship as it has happened for me," Isabel says.

Isabel says the Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program, in which teams of students with different majors work on a project to solve a real-world problem together, helped her see how the skills she is learning complement the skills others on campus are learning.

"It gives you resources to create anything out of your wild imagination," she says. "Illinois Tech is the place where you don’t just learn to code, but how to solve real-world issues."
