Embracing Intellectual Challenges
After graduation, Hubert Zanczak (LAW ’20) wants to help protect data privacy. “Technology is all around us, and it makes our lives better, safer, and more efficient," he says. "But sadly, as a society we have ignored the privacy implications of the next best app or best phone. And I would like to play a role in defining what the proper boundaries should be when it comes to recognizing privacy rights in our data.”
Originally from Siemirowice, Poland, Zanczak graduated from North Central College with a bachelor's degree in economics and finance. During college he worked as an assistant in a small law office, where he fell in love with the practice of law. “What appeals most to me about being a lawyer is the constant intellectual challenge together with the ability to advocate on behalf of someone in need.”
In addition to serving as president of Chicago-Kent’s Cyber Security & Data Privacy Society, Zanczak is a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, Chicago-Kent Law Review, Federalist Society, and American Constitution Society.
“I care deeply about fundamental constitutional issues, but I also know that the best way to learn and grow is to be challenged in your views and surrounded by people who do not necessarily agree with you.”
