Opportunities Abroad

During the summer of 2019, Victoria Belotti spent a month in Scotland as part of a faculty-led study away program. She took two humanities/social science courses, and got to learn about Scottish history, culture, and politics through visiting the places and cities where historical and political events occurred.

"This study abroad experience greatly helped me grow as a student since I traveled abroad and experienced a different country’s culture for the first time," Tori says.

Tori says she finds the math faculty to be incredibly supportive of students and finds the coursework to be relevant.

"I love learning topics that can be applied to solving real-world problems," she says. "The applied mathematics degree program offers a lot of flexibility, such as being able to do a dual degree with statistics and being required to have a minor, which allows us to gain more domain-specific knowledge in another field of our choosing."
