Career Fairs
Held once per semester, our campus-wide career fair events draw undergraduates, graduates, and alumni from all disciplines looking for internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. Spots for our career fairs fill up fast. In addition to our campus-wide career fairs, we offer a limited number of smaller career fairs each semester. These events are typically more industry-specific, and often include partnership with student organizations on campus. For information about recruiting at one of our career fairs, contact Lisa Montgomery, Director, Employer Engagement, at montgomeryL@iit.edu or 312.567.3777.
On-Campus Interviews (OCIs)
On-campus interviewing is an effective vehicle to interview and hire Illinois Tech students and alumni who are seeking full-time, co-op, or internship positions. Companies may choose an open call session for candidates based on their criteria. Companies can pre-select candidates to interview through Handshake or by receiving vetted résumé. Please reach out to our Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Outreach, Celestine McGee at cmcgee1@iit.edu if you are interested in doing an on-campus interview session.
Employer Spotlights
Spotlights are information sessions that will introduce students to your organization. This typically consists of a presentation, an overview of available opportunities, and a question-and-answer session, though all components are customizable. Employer spotlights are open to all students unless the employer specifies it be closed. Closed spotlights are limited to persons previously selected for interviews. Employer spotlights also may be made a prerequisite for an interview. Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contact our Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Outreach, Celestine McGee at cmcgee1@iit.edu for information on fees and catering requests, or register through Handshake via the “Events” tab.
- Catering options are available for an additional fee. Paid parking is available on campus
Game Nights
Employer game nights are increasingly popular at Illinois Tech. These events provide a fun, informal opportunity to meet with smaller groups of students, socialize, and talk about your company. Game nights take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from 6–8 p.m. in the BOG (the basement game lounge in Hermann Hall). Catering is available for an additional cost. Many companies prefer to combine Game Nights with Employer-in-Residence or Employer Spotlight sessions on campus earlier in the day.
- $150 for all organizations
- Parking is included in your registration fee; Catering options are available for an additional fee
Hackathons
Hackathons are programming or coding events—usually competitions or contests—where student hackers get together to show off their technical skills. Terms and challenge objectives are determined by the employer, and fees vary on the scope of the event, catering requests, etc. Contact us for details.
- Base price of $150 for the event
- Catering, event space needs, and audio-visual equipment are available for an additional fee
Information Table
Companies are able to set up an information table on The McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) “Bridge,” a central walkway in the campus hub for students. This “on-the-Bridge” recruiting is usually offered over the lunch hour, for up to three hours.
- Reserved space during the lunch-hour period, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., which includes one table and two representatives
- Monitor promotion on upcoming visit across the Illinois Tech campus
- Meal pass for two representatives included

Illinois Tech’s Signature “IPRO” Event
The Interprofessional Projects (IPRO) Program at Illinois Tech combines students from disciplines across campus working as a team to take on real-world problems. Teams often collaborate with businesses, sponsors, or community partners to provide innovative solutions to complex problems. Student teams consist of junior and seniors from mixed programs and disciplines. Each semester, IPRO teams exhibit their work and are evaluated by judges.
Illumination Sessions
This program establishes partnerships with the community, companies, and alumni to provide discourse on global workforce practices, trends and culture, and engages the campus community—students and alumni—focusing on mapping their career path. Thought leaders from a variety of industries are invited to share their valuable insight on effective strategies for personal and professional development, the culture of the business world, and provide tips on how to skillfully succeed. Corporations and organizations can register to partner with Illinois Tech departments and student organizations to provide the ultimate illuminating experience. For more information, contact Nicholas Mancari, Associate Director of Career Services, at: 312.567.5270 or nmancari@iit.edu.
