Illinois Tech’s athletics program fields competitive teams in 19 sports, including men’s and women’s teams in soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, swimming and diving, baseball, lacrosse, indoor and outdoor track and field, and tennis. Current Scarlet Hawks student-athletes maintain a 3.365 (4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average, with dozens annually named as NACC Scholar Athletes. Many of these scholars are pursuing cutting-edge degrees that align with CSI’s mission, including business administration, engineering (mechanical, biomedical, architectural, structural, civil, electrical, chemical), physics, computer science, psychology, and more.

Home of Illinois Tech’s Interprofessional Projects Program, which houses the Sports Lab, the Kaplan Institute’s mission is to “provide distinctive and relevant education in an environment of scientific, technological, and professional knowledge creation and innovation.”

Illinois Tech Esports’ mission is to engage the community in casual and competitive gaming. They strive to create experiences dedicated to the player, and aim to provide value for both gamers and their sponsors. Whether organizing high-level tournaments or a casual LAN party, their goal is to create a space for everyone to connect through gaming.

Multiple business partners have recognized Illinois Tech’s unique position to merge technological research and development with the sports industry. They participate in classroom projects, give feedback to student developers and researchers, and provide insight about current industry trends.

Individuals and corporate entities have also directly contributed to the Center’s cause.
