Illinois Institute of Technology's Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH) will host the 2017 IFT Nonthermal Workshop and Short Course

The International Nonthermal Processing Workshop is a yearly event organized by the Nonthermal Processing Division of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and the European Federation of Food Science and Technology (EFFoST). The two-day workshop, May 24-25, 2017, is the leading international forum featuring presentations from government, academia, and the food industry, providing the audience with the latest development of nonthermal and innovative food processing technologies, best practices for process validation, and approaches and case studies for commercializing these technologies in the global marketplace. It attracts a strong worldwide audience from the industry, government, education, research institutions, consulting laboratories, and service providers.

“The 2017 workshop will highlight the theme of Applications and Commercialization of Nonthermal Food Processing Technologies. We look forward to seeing you at the 2017 International Nonthermal Processing Workshop and Short Course,” said Jason Wan, professor in Illinois Tech’s Department Food Science and Nutrition; associate director of IFSH; chair of the 2017 Workshop Organizing Committee; and chair of the IFT Nonthermal Processing Division.

In addition, a Nonthermal Processing Technology short course will provide a comprehensive overview, including a tour of the IFSH laboratories. The short course will be held on May 23, 2017, at IFSH.
